Speaker crossovers

A speaker crossover is an electronic device that can pick out the different frequencies in the audio signal before it goes to the amplifier (you would need an amplifier output for each driver). For instance, if you have a small and a large speaker the crossover will send a small frequency to the small speaker and a large frequency to the large speaker, so that the large frequency doesn't "cook" the small speaker.

The advantage of using an active crossover, over a passive crossover, is that you can adjust the frequency ranges yourself. These are not commonly used though.

Crossover and drivers can be bought as separate components but most people buy speakers, which already have them included within the speaker itself. Normally separate devices are bought for bigger music venues where more volume and a more precise sound is needed.

How to order from Independent Products

Payment options: bank transfer, cheque, debit card, credit card, 14 and 30 day credit accounts (see below). We do not charge a credit card surcharge.

Please note that Independent Products only supply equipment to businesses, government bodies, educational establishments and charities.  We never sell to private individuals.

Please do not book installation of equipment before goods have arrived and have been fully tested. We accept no liability for installation or other cost occurred in the case of late delivery. Courier delays, manufacturer supply problems, etc, are beyond our responsible control.
