Ceiling speaker tiles

Ceiling sound panels are available as a loudspeaker or loudspeaker/amplifier which are fitted to the underside of an Armstrong ceiling tile. These are available as paging/masking panels or music panels.

The sound panels give combined performance for public address or music, public address and active acoustics in offices, corporate, boardrooms, hospitality suites, hotels, restaurants, council chambers, healthcare, retail, leisure, transport terminals, call centres and education environments.

This means that whether in a shop, a school, college or public place, you can hear music, announcements, the teachers voice, etc., through a ceiling (tile) sound panel, in other words voice reinforcement or sound field voice reinforcement.

NXT panel in-wall loudspeakers are designed to be skimmed over with 2mm of normal finishing plaster, providing a completely concealed audio solution whilst allowing designers and builders a very high quality wall finish ready to accept a decoration of choice (paint, paper, textured plaster etc).

NXT technology allows the sound waves to create a more around-the-room sound rather than a directional sound as with conventional cone loudspeakers.

In schools and colleges, Section 1 of Building Bulletin 93, the Governments Specification of Acoustic Performance sets the standards for the acoustics of new buildings and explains the requirements and solutions to... provide acoustic conditions in schools that facilitate clear communications of speech between teachers and students. The key aim of a (speech reinforcement) system is to increase the loudness of the direct sound, particularly for more distant listeners, whilst keeping sound as natural as possible. The distribution of loudspeakers and their directional characteristics is a key issue in achieving high speech intelligibility. For large teaching rooms and lecture theatres, loudspeakers can be distributed in the ceiling.
